Ramzan special keema puri recipe is a delightful treat that brings warmth and flavor to the iftar table. These golden, deep-fried puris are stuffed with a savory mix of spiced minced meat—keema—infused with aromatic cumin, tangy tomatoes, and a kick of green chilies. Ingredients

For the Puri Dough:


  • 1 cup whole wheat flour

  • 1 teaspoon oil

  • Pinch of salt

  • Water (enough to make a firm dough)

  • Oil for frying

For the Keema Filling:


  • 200g minced meat (chicken, lamb, or beef)

  • 1 small onion, chopped

  • 1 teaspoon ginger paste

  • 1 teaspoon garlic paste

  • 1 green chili, chopped

  • 1 small tomato, diced

  • 1 teaspoon cumin seeds

  • 1 teaspoon red chili powder

  • 1/2 teaspoon turmeric powder

  • 1 teaspoon coriander powder

  • Salt to taste

  • 1 tablespoon oil

  • Fresh cilantro, chopped (optional)

Method

Puri Dough:


  1. Mix flour, salt, and oil in a bowl.

  2. Add water little by little, kneading into a firm dough.

  3. Cover and let it sit for 15 minutes.

Keema Filling:


  1. Heat oil into the pan, add cumin seed, and let them sizzle.

  2. Add chopped onion and cook until golden.

  3. Stir in ginger paste, garlic paste, and green chili. Cook for 1 minute.

  4. Add minced meat and cook until browned, stirring to break it up.

  5. Mix red chili powder, also turmeric, and coriander powder, as well as salt.

  6. Add diced tomato and cook until soft and the mixture is dry (about 5-7 minutes).

  7. Sprinkle with cilantro if using, then let it cool.

Making Keema Puris:


  1. Divide dough into small balls.

  2. Roll each ball into a small circle (3-4 inches).

  3. Place a spoonful of keema in the center.

  4. Fold the dough over the filling and pinch to seal, then gently flatten slightly.

  5. Heat oil in a deep pan and fry each puri on medium heat until golden and puffed (flip once).

  6. Drain on paper towels and serve hot.
